Foods are classified as acidic or alkaline on the basis of the residue they leave in our body after metabolisation. Many fashionable diets advise people to take a completely acidic or completely alkaline diet to get rid of one disease or another. It is always healthier to take a balanced mix of acidic and alkaline food. Problems start arising of if one starts taking food high in acid content as they leave acidic remainder in our body. This disrupts the body’s chemical balance as our body is slightly towards alkaline side. A high acidic body develops pains, exhaustion, organ failure and serious diseases.

Foods rich in alkaline content can be marvelous for the body. It washes out acids and unsafe elements from the body. It maintains the chemical balance giving the body strength, energy and vigour. It reverses our ageing process by increasing the blood circulation. If at the age of 20’s or 30’s, we start getting symptoms like muscle and joint pain, headache, laziness, persistent weight problem, then its high time to stop taking highly acidic diet and shifting to a more alkaline diet, otherwise these symptoms can later lead to more serious illness like heart attack, cancer, etc.
Consumption of alkaline food brings about great changes in mind and body. So, we can say that living a healthy life is not an unattainable accomplishment. You can grab a hale and hearty body by just following these steps:

Exercise daily according to your body needs.

Quit smoking and too much drinking.

We are definitely in need plenty of fresh fruits and particularly vegetables (alkaline-producing) to balance our necessary protein intake. We must also be vigilant in avoiding processed, sugary or simple-carbohydrate foods as they are acid-producing have the potential to raise blood sugar level too quickly
