It is one of the important questions which remain unanswered “What a healthy diet should consist of ?” We get number of opinions on healthy diet but it becomes difficult to decide which one is correct. Primarily, healthy diet means proper food that provides your body correct nutrition for healthy body.

Healthy Diet

Protein, carbohydrates and fats are primary need for your body, but they must be in correct proportion in your diet. Natural and whole foods should become an important part of your daily diet. In place of processed food give importance to natural, whole foods. Right choice in daily food habits will result into healthier lifestyle with perfect health.

Lean meats, fish, nuts and beans are good examples of protein food. They keep our organs and cells at maximum energy levels. Your diet should contain essential fatty acids which reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases and also nourish cells and tissues. Some of the examples of essential fatty acid sources are cold water fish such as salmon, sardines and mackerel.

Vitamins and nutrients play a very important role to keep us healthy. Fruits and vegetables are good source of various vitamins and nutrients. Always prefer organic fruits and vegetables to stay away from toxins that we get through pesticides and other chemicals. Five servings of fruits and vegetables provides proper amount of vitamins and nutrients to the body.

Fiber helps in cleaning our digestive system. Good examples of fiber rich food are fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains such as oatmeal, barley and brown rice. Processed grains for example breads, crackers should be taken in small quantity as they provide very less fiber.

Healthy Diet

Drinking lot of filtered water is also an important part of a healthy diet. Drinking water helps to keep body hydrated and flushes out all harmful toxins from body. Human body needs at least 2 liter that is 8 glasses of water per day.

Eating healthy and staying healthy and disease free are interconnected to each other. Now you have knowledge of “What a healthy diet consists of?” To maintain a quality life; you should include whole, natural food in your diet, avoid harmful processed food and drink lot of water.
